I hold a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I worked in a variety of settings in the NHS for almost 15 years. I also managed mental health services including a psychology service in West London.

I then qualified as a CELTA Teacher and lived in Saudi Arabia for almost 5 years. During that period, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in a British school, I taught English at King Saud University, I ran a small catering business and blog. Oh, and I wrote a novel. The main highlight for me was experiencing a spiritual awakening that made be become closer to Allah, pray salah like never before, wear a hijab, and perform Hajj. Alhamdulillah for the enriching experiences I had during this phase of my life.

After I moved back to the UK, I became a mom in 2016 and that started my journey of writing for children. I created a publishing company (Bismillah Bees) and for the following 7 years I became more than a one-woman-band: it felt more like an orchestra. I was the author, editor, art director, accountant, order processor, courier, marketing manager, administrator, shipping agent, customer service provider... you get the idea!

Before covid struck, I was busy writing a book and planning a training course to teach people how to publish their books. Then covid came and I had to adjust to having my boys at home full-time. A lot went on hold. Including that book and course. I then lost my dad and had to take more time off from my goals.

Alhamdulillah - no regrets - and Allah is the best of planners.

That seed of a goal is now much bigger with not only a support service for aspiring authors, but Dreams and Duas is an independent publishing company that will publish books for adults as well as children insha'Allah.

I am currently studying a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to begin a new career as a Primary School Teacher insha'Allah.

Having worked with so many adults with mental health problems, I am an advocate for 'Early Intervention'. And what better way to help the adults of the future, than to help them in childhood to build resilience, emotional intelligence, and self-belief.

Plus, there is a lot that is not taught in schools. I want to get into education to make an impact and shape the curriculum and education experience for the future generation insha'Allah.

I am also currently training to become a Life Coach through Adwam School of Life Coach Certification and Training, a programme founded by Brother Muhammad Al Shareef (may Allah have mercy on him) - the pioneer of Islamic Based Coaching and Self Development.

As a trainee, I am offering my sessions / courses at a very reasonable price. I am certain that my sessions will bring more value than what you paid insha'Allah!
